Historical Excerpt
Early Puritan settlers built homes along the New England coastline. The earliest houses had to be built quickly so the settlers could survive the upcoming winter so they were constructed of readily available materials such as mud and reed-thatch roof. Meeting houses and churches, the more important locations for Puritan communities were often built of wood.

Thus our group chose the Hog Island, Massachusetts as it fits the following criteria for a realistic setting:

1. Located beside a coastline, on the greenly pasture, for a believable Puritans landing site.
2. Wooden houses built in a distinctly simplistic Puritan style. (see below)
3. Far, far away from any sign of modern developments out of place in 17th century.
e.g. the ubiquitous streetlight, tarmac roads and concrete building.
